How to post an article

You must have “Author” status before you can contribute an article. Please see the “About” page (link in the right hand column) for information on becoming a contributor.

To write a post:

  1. Log in to your WordPress Administration Panel.
  2. Click the Write tab.
  3. Start filling in the blanks.
  4. As needed, select a category, add tags, and make other selections from the sections below the post.
  5. When you are ready, click Publish.

When you have written your article and saved it you can publish right away or leave it for publishing later. You can preview your article with “View this page”. This is good for practicing and getting it to look the way you want before it is published.

 How to add a picture to your article

Look for the media buttons just below the “Title” box.

Clicking on “Add an Image” will open the Add image page.

Add a picture

Choose a file to upload by using the “Browse” button to find it on your computer.

Click the “Upload” button.

If you picture is larger than 350 x 350 pixels it will be resized during upload.

Insert picture

Fill in the other details as required and click “Insert into Post”.

 How to add your Avatar (picture) to your comments

 Step 1. Go to the Gravatar web site. http://en.gravatar.com/

Step 2. Follow the instructions on the Gravatar web site to register your picture. It is a free service.

Once you have created your avatar it will appear in your comments posts automatically.

 Approval of comments

You have to log in to add a comment to a post.

The first time you add a comment it will be held for approval before it appears.

Once you have had your first comment approved future comments will appear right away.

Followup comments via e-mail

 You can subscribe to followup comments via e-mail.

The subscription option will be found below the commenting box on relevant pages. You will be able to unsubscribe later if you wish.

If you are the author of the article you are automatically subscribed to get notification of comments by email.
