Advantage of stamping with tissue paper 2
September 8th, 2008 by Maree
This was a test using an inked background.
The image on the right was stamped directly on the card with stazon. It is clear but also the background is quite strong.
On the left, I stamped the image on tissue with Stazon and pva’d the tissue to the inked card. Â The background is slightly muted and gives a bit of depth to the image. Click on the image to enlarge.

They both look lovely, nice to see examples of the different effects. Thanks.

Love the effect of the tissue – it blurs the background. Must give it a go.

Ok Maree – I decided to give it a go. First I stamped on Tissue paper with versamark and then embossed with silver ep. so far so good… I then glued said tissue to pre inked card and guess what – it stuck well but never became opaque!!! why you may ask – I used ‘tacky glue’ not pva!!! (because I did not have any!!) Next I stamped image on tissue with black stazon and this time I used spray on glue!! (still not pva!) it adhered very well and became opaque (so far so good) but unfortunately (after three days) was still very sticky… So I came up with solutiion I covered it with acetate – looks well but still not your experiment!!!

Sorry you had problems with it Patsy, however that is how to find new techniques! I will experiment with other glues and see what I come up with!

Just had a go with different glues.
Tissue is so easy to adhere that it needs a lightweight glue, you can use tacky glue if you dilute it with some water first, the same goes for pva or Craft glue, if they are too heavy. There are several types of Tissue, also, my preference is the ‘crinkly’ kind. You can also use pre-printed tissue, such as an old, fashion pattern, tissue, for a retro look!
